John Baner9/11

Screen Shot 2016-08-17 at 9.59.16 PMOn the morning of September 11th, 2001, John Baner was a member of the New York City Police Department.  He was a Detective Sergeant with the Detective Bureau in Manhattan on that fateful morning.  He received a phone call telling him that a plane had crashed and that he needed to respond to the 1rst precinct.  While on the way with other detectives, they got the word that a second plane had hit the World Trade Center. They knew then that this was no accident, but an intentional act, an act of terrorism.  America was under attack.

When John and his detectives where about 40 yards from the towers, they looked up and saw one of them starting to collapse.  The driver of the car they were in slammed the car into reverse and narrowly missed getting hit by debris from the first tower.  John was an eyewitness to history, literally at ground zero to what would become the War on Terror and his story is truly remarkable.
