During World War II, Richard Graff served his country in the infantry as a member of the United States Army. Out of England, Richard and his unit first saw combat in Holland. Like most young men experiencing combat for the first time, Richard says he was scared and thought during the first night that he would not live to see another sunrise. He says he prayed to God asking Him to grant him just one more sunrise, which He did. In fact, Richard says that he has been granted over 26,000 since that night.
Richard tells his story regularly to school aged children. In addition to talking about his service during the war, he is sure to remind them that we all live from one sunrise to the next. His advice to them is to make the most of every single sunrise you get, make as many friends as you can, learn all you can about everything you can, and finally, have all the fun you can.
