Carolyn Kirkland

Vietnam Era

During the Vietnam Era, Carolyn Kirkland served her country as a member of the United States Navy Nurse Corps.  Her husband, Gordon "Bud" Kirkland, served during the Vietnam War with the United States Marine Corps.  In this interview with Carolyn, she shares her husband's story.  Sadly, he passed away several years ago from complications due to his exposure to Agent Orange.

It examines how periods of conflict have profoundly shaped American society. It educates visitors about the costs of war, both on a personal and social level.
