David Hinds

Vietnam War

David Hinds served as a U.S. Marine Corps combat veteran in Vietnam from 1966 to 1967. During his service, he was wounded three times and awarded three Purple Hearts for his bravery and sacrifice. After returning home, Hinds dedicated his life to public service, working as a firefighter for 23 years, ten of those as an arson investigato, and later as a deputy sheriff for 11 years. He was inducted into the Veterans Hall of Fame and recognized with numerous honors, including the Presidential Outstanding Community Achievement of Vietnam Era Veterans award and several Marine Corps League commendations for his leadership and volunteer work in veterans and civic organizations. Hinds has been a tireless advocate for veterans and his community, leading projects such as the Zanesville Vietnam Veterans Outreach Program and Dublin Veterans Park’s Grounds of Remembrance Memorial.
