Natale Vaccaro

World War II

Natale Vaccaro served in the Pacific during World War II as a member of the United States Navy aboard the USS Phoenix (CL-46), a Brooklyn Class light cruiser.  During his interview, Mr. Vaccaro tells about being assigned to a 20mm anti-aircraft gun, the Phoenix being hit by a Kamikaze and Douglas MacArthur coming aboard the ship.
