Americans in Wartime Experience
September 26, 2022
Wow - another tremendously successful Open House! We had the honor of having Medal of Honor recipient Major General James Livingston join us and share some inspiring words about our great nation, the nature of sacrifice and military service of our brave men and women, first responders, and the mission of the Americans in Wartime Experience. We were blessed with beautiful weather both Saturday and Sunday and we were host to over 12,000 visitors. Our Open House had participants and volunteers from all across America.

Each year, the Open House is a strategic outreach opportunity for event visitors and the Washington Metro area as a means to “educate, honor, and inspire” all those who have served our great nation. We want to thank everyone who participated and made this great event possible especially our devoted volunteers, reenactors, vendors, scouts, donors, and members! None of this would be possible without your support. Every donation and membership go to making the Open House at the Tank Farm possible and to bring Americans in Wartime Experience to a reality.
The Americans in Wartime Experience explores the impact of war and conflict on America since WWI. It honors those who served in the military and on the home front and highlights the values they demonstrated in serving – duty, honor, and courage. It examines how periods of conflict have profoundly shaped American society. It educates visitors about the costs of war, both on a personal and social level. It challenges visitors to remember the service and sacrifices made by their fellow citizens to preserve and defend our freedoms. LEARN MORE
